yeah of course, or a lack of it. human emotion is the heart of everything. some of the most beautiful stuff, for me, is the very blank Plath stuff where she seems almost devoid of emotion and love, and that stirs a counter-emotion in me.... a lot of radiohead's lyrics as well like 'no surprises'
others are a cacophony of emotion, like... well sartre in particular.... but i read poetry to escape from the regular, everyday quasi-emotions i feel every day in a numb kind of way
don't get me wrong, my life is fine as standards go, i just some to be acutely aware of something else in life that i can't reach..... like a "splinter in my mind" to continue the matrix analogy.... and i just cant find worth in the things other people do
oh yeah poetry :)
well yeah, basically needs to be flowing with emotion
