... and I can remember to have felt a lot like this when I was 17. I was wearing unusual clothing, had unusual people as friends and did my best not to be like the mainstream.
My experience now is that thinking, if you do it thoroughly and sharply enough, will over time give you more and more insights, you'll see more, you'll recognize more. You will see things through more clearly over time. It takes time, though ... my advice to you is to be patient with yourself. I may sound like a christian here, but loving yourself the way you want to love others is a huge help and will pay off later. You'll see.
Last tip ... don't let the big world of business or politics overcome you, rely on a smaller world of philosophy, art or whatever you like. Also, search for company since loneliness can become a problem for earnest thinkers.
: I don't know what I'm looking for, but I'm pretty sure it's not the American dream, a wife and two kids, an MFI wardrobe. I keep half-expecting my life to suddenly start running like the Matrix! Something must happen, something must be out there, i have to be more than this. I'm still looking for someone who feels the same way. Until then im sticking to underage drinking and easy girls ;) (see I AM TOO REAL, im 17)
