I think that for the average american it's the same as for the average german I know. Not very intelligent, not very well informed they rely on what they themselves know. And they fucking don't know Bush as a warmonger, they know him as that nice guy's face on their TV screen's. Besides this, I guess that him being not very intelligent himself does appeal to the people who see in him one of themselves. Those who look at the facts, those who see the problems with the economy Bush has no ideas how to deal with see it more clearly.

Besides this, you present a wrong point, Bush's ratings in america before 11 sept weren't that high.
