Hey Joe, you simply overlook the point she makes with her "rants". (You completely overlooked that she doesn't rant but presents independent information instead!) It's not blah-blah to critisize america, it's a most worthy thing to do in this time.

: And Anitah has yet to say anything worth thinking about. Her post is the usual, all-too predictable generalized rant about US excess, blah, blah, that every college freshman "feels" (Spratley take note) after reading some of the favorite collegiate ideological tract. If you find that interesting, I can only say that I think you should get out more. If she's posted somehting insightful that I've missed, paste it here.

: One thing I have consistently noticed about anti-americanism is that it never really gets past the rant stage. They invariably clam up when called on it.

: P.S. It's not "always better to be a critic of one's country". Really, regardless of the context, that just can't be a true statement in the absolute form you've presented it.

No, it is a true statement, it comes from overserving the people of my home country, germany. Those frequently develop nationalism as well, as the world had to get to know at least two times.

I should get out? I guess you should get out of your ol' Kentucky home and see america how the rest of the world sees it.
