: It's just a little too easy to make these philosophical points when you refuse to define your terms. Obviously, the universe is not an "organism" as the rest of the world defines that term. By being intentionally vague about what you are saying, it's very hard to be disproven, isn't it? This question is exactly why I became sick of philosophy. Rather than make a clear point, they intentionally butcher the language they are using and hope that the reader will fill in something that might very loosely be defined as nuance or metaphor, thereby relieving the writer of actually having to make his point clearly.
That's funny, the reason I got sick of Philosophy is because they try to get so damn specific about language that they lose the meaning in it in the process. Opposites are the same!
