a cry towards the absurd

The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.Camus

Who is the American government? There isn't a robot with a million arms living in the White House controlling country's affairs. "The Government" is a collective, if there is such a thing, of individuals. Of "innocent civillians." The problem is that everyone views themself as separate. By paying taxes, one is supporting the murder of thousands of people. By buying a burger, one is supporting the unsustainable commercial empire that dictates who gets what and when. By doing virtually anything, one is part of the unimaginably complex organism that is "society."

It is impossible to escape the system. "Imagine Sisyphus happy."

That doesn't mean having the attitude that since "we" cannot affect "the system," we may as well do whatever we please. What it means is finding some comprimise, some accomodation, so that one can be happy while still having a "clear conscience" (whatever that is).

Then again, "morality" is another discussion altogether. Who says that "human dignity" is the best thing in life? That is simply one person's opinion. Since morality has no objective basis, one cannot even attempt to rationalize or de-rationalize anyone's morals. It is therefore solely a personal struggle. Mein Kampf, perhaps. Yuck.
