this idea only works if you start from a Cartesian purely material conception of the human being (as a rational creature)
this is precisely why we can assume that human beings defy purely materialistic conceptualizations
were it not for love there would be no explanation for the irrational behavior we witness
the more we embrace the purely material, however, the more distance we put between us and our ultimate destination
